Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Part-Time LPN or LPN-Graduate Nurse Resident for the Surgical department at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role involves performing nursing duties during a 12-hour night shift (19:00–07:30) with responsibilities including patient care under supervision, coordination with other departments, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Education requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program, with Missouri LPN licensure and BLS

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Certifications: BLS or completion within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Licensure: Missouri LPN license and meet State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical: Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs; stand/walk for shift; bend, kneel, twist, squat.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

LPN or LPN-Graduate Nurse Resident

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Surgical

Status: Part-Time - 12 hrs/week

Shift: 12 Hour (Nights - 1900-0730)

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current Missouri LPN license and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical Requirements/Demands: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
