Job summary

Nephrology Care LLC is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to join a busy nephrology clinic. The role involves supporting clinicians, taking vital signs, and performing basic lab tests.

The candidate will handle administrative duties and maintain patient privacy under HIPAA. Monday through Thursday workdays, PTO after orientation, and 401(k) offered are included.

Qualifications

• LPN or CMA certification required.
• CMA certification or Nebraska Nursing License required.
• Proficient in medical terminology and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative tasks such as answering and returning calls, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, faxes, etc.
• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments.
• Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
• Prepare examination rooms and stock supplies.
• Perform basic laboratory tests (urine tests).
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Job Description

Part time position available for qualified LPN or certified medical assistant in busy nephrology office.

Duties:

• Perform administrative tasks such as answering and returning phone calls, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, faxes, etc.
• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments
• Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine tests
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Prior auth completion

Skills:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Nebraska Nursing License required
• Proficient in medical terminology and documentation
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
• Computer proficiency
