Job summary

Management & Training Corporation Graceville Correctional Facility is seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to provide a blend of acute and chronic care in a detainee population. The role includes 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with a pay rate of $31 per hour.

The nurse will participate in medication administration, room preparation, emergency procedures, and documentation under supervision of health services leadership, with licensure in Florida or a compact state and CPR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited LVN program.
• Current Florida LVN license or compact state license.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess detainee condition and prescribe treatment under supervision.
• Assist with provider line; prep examining room and equipment.
• Administer medications; document in policies and procedures.
• Handle medication, syringes and supplies per protocol.

An exciting environment for a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to work in a mixture of acute and chronic care patient care settings. This is a unique opportunity to see and do every aspect of patient care from true lifesaving medical emergencies that come through our onsite ER suite to chronic disease management and more.

Primary Duties Include

• Under direction of health services administrator, supervising nurse and professional service providers and in accordance with approved treatment protocol, assess condition of and prescribe treatment for detainees reporting to sick call.
• Assist with provider line; prepare examining room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, administer medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures. To include push and or wheel pill cart on facility campus.
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment as required
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders.
• Timely and accurate documentation
• Assessment and treatment of our patients per protocol.
• Administer injections and plant PPDs

Education and experience requirements:

Ahigh school diploma or equivalent and six months of related experience. A graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program. Must possess current, valid vocational nursing license for the state of Florida or a compact state and current CPR certification
