Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses seeks an LVN for a 13-week assignment in a 34-bed Bariatric Medical/Surgical unit in El Paso, TX. You will work with a 56-person day team, including 1 charge nurse, 6 nurses, and 3 PCTs, with a similar night shift configuration, using state-of-the-art equipment.

The shift is 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM with four weekend commitments and no on-call requirements. Must hold an LVN license and BLS, plus proficiency with IV starts, Foley, NGT, colostomy, and drain management.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency in starting IVs, Foley insertion/management, NGT insertion/management, and colostomy system exchange.
• Experience with drain management (JP, Hemovac, Wound Vac).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients, including wound care and tube feedings.
• Manage and troubleshoot wound vacs, trachs, and suction equipment.
• Conduct patient assessments and assist in the development of care plans.

You will work alongside a dedicated staff of 56 that includes 1 charge nurse, 6 nurses, and 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) during the day shift, and a similar configuration at night. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional patient care within our dynamic environment, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients, including wound care and tube feedings.
• Manage and troubleshoot wound vacs, trachs, and suction equipment.
• Conduct patient assessments and assist in the development of care plans.

Required Experience

• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency in starting IVs, Foley insertion/management, NGT insertion/management, and colostomy system exchange.
• Experience with drain management (JP, Hemovac, Wound Vac).

Certifications / Licensure

Must have a valid LVN license. Additional preferred experience includes chest tube management and port-a-cath access and de-access competencies.
