Qualifications

• BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained (online BLS not accepted).
• LPN: Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing and maintain a current state license.
• MA: Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam rooms and document vitals and visit information.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed by a clinician or standing orders.
• Assist with procedures such as ear lavage, EKGs, and bladder scans.
• Complete rooming process including medication reconciliation, refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, and forms.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

Position Summary:

As a part of our team, you will be providing care for patients which may include the following duties:

• Escort patient to exam rooms and appropriately document necessary visit information and vitals such as height, weight, and blood pressure.
• Prepare and administer medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician, RN or following standing orders.
• Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by a clinician, such as administering, ear lavage, EKG's, and bladder scans.
• Ensure all components of the standard rooming process are completed including medication reconciliation and pending refills, allergy review, immunization reconciliation, completion of appropriate forms and questionnaires to support clinical quality.
• Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Qualifications:

This role requires a BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.

Must meet one of the following:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
• Medical Assistant (MA) : Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by "The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)."

Preferred Qualifications:

• One or more years of healthcare experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
