Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for General Surgery 3W to join our inpatient team. This part-time role is 24 hours per week with a 12-hour shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

The RN will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision, uphold patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinate care with other departments. Mercy offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within a collaborative, compassionate health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Schedule: Part time | 24 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
