Mercy Hospital South is seeking an LPN for the Med/Surg unit on the night shift (7:00pm–7:30am). A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

The ideal candidate has a Practical Nursing diploma and a Missouri LPN license, with appropriate certifications as required by the department. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to provide safe patient care, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position, unit assignment, or must be obtained within the department’s specified timeframe:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through the American Heart Association (required within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification (Missouri only) – must be completed prior to hire or within 3 months of hire
• Additional unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift
• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to carry out job responsibilities
