Mercy is hiring an LPN to provide patient care using the nursing process under supervision, coordinating with other departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. You will apply clinical skills and support the team in Med/Surg to ensure safe, compassionate care.

This position at Mercy Hospital South runs on a day shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and includes a $2,000 sign‑on bonus. Candidates must graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program and hold an active LPN license

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:
  Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Consideration will be given to candidates with comparable education, relevant experience, and successful licensure
• Licensure:
  Must obtain and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state where nursing duties are performed. The individual is responsible for meeting and maintaining all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications:
  One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position, unit assignment, or must be obtained within the department’s specified timeframe:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) through the American Heart Association (required within 30 days of hire)
  • LPN-IV Certification (Missouri only) - must be completed prior to hire or within 3 months of hire
  • Additional unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift
• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting to carry out job responsibilities
