Job summary

The Cayuga Health system is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Maternal Child Health team at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. This full-time position covers day and night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation per unit requirements.

As an LPN in Maternal Child Health, you will provide direct patient care, document in the EMR, dispense medications within scope, and collaborate with RNs and other staff to support families through perinatal care.

Qualifications

• Current NYS LPN license.
• Ability to work day and night shifts with weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Dispenses medication within scope of practice and documents in patient EMR.
• Plans for patient care, prioritizing needs.
• Involves patients and families in care goals.
• Obtains data related to patient care and records in EMR.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in mental and emotional conditions to the RN.
• Ensures sterile field and follows hospital P&P for procedures.
• Stocks department areas including OR and conducts bi-weekly audits.
• Performs and documents hearing screens.
• Sets up, cleans, and stocks after deliveries and C-sections.
