Job summary

SouthCoast Health is seeking a PRN LPN/MA for the Nephrology Department in Savannah. The role assists physicians with patient care, handles clerical tasks, and manages patient flow, intake, and charting.

Proficiency testing, Georgia LPN or Compact licensure, and current BLS/CPR are required. The candidate will support patient care activities, prepare charts, assist with examinations, record vitals, and document care coordination according to standards.

SouthCoast Health is looking for a PRN LPN/MA for our Nephrology Department in Savannah

This position is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, and organizational tasks. Responsible for patient flow, intake, and chart management.

Requirements:

Must pass proficiency test. Current Georgia LPN or Compact Nursing licensure. Maintain current BLS/CPR Certification.

  • Assist physicians with patient care, clerical, and organizational tasks.
  • Control patient flow in clinic.
  • Prepare patient charts for appointments.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and special procedures.

  • Document patient care observation and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
  • Perform clinical duties as assigned by Mid-Level or Physician.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to exercise professionalism in dealing with all levels of personnel, patients and patients' families.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
  • Ability to complete tasks as directed by physician and nursing staff.
  • Ability to deal with many tasks at one time with flexibility.
Education/ Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Licensed Practical Nurse: Graduate from an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing program.

Medical Assistant:

1. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting training program or

2. Medical Assistant in the military or

3. EMT-A or paramedic.

* An exception may be granted to individuals that have not attended an accredited training program but do have (i) a national certification in medical assisting and (ii) a minimum of 2 years of medical assisting experience. Such exception may only occur following (i) a thorough evaluation of the individuals experience; training/education; skills and qualifications, (ii) a determination by the Director of Nursing that such individual has the requisite skills and knowledge to perform as a Medical Assistant and (iii) written approval from two Executive Committee members. *
