Job summary

CSL in Las Vegas seeks a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, provide limited emergency medical care, and interview donors. A background in paramedic, nursing, PA, or related training is required to assess medical history and ensure donor safety.

You will work under supervision, respond to medically related questions with the Center Medical Director, review test results, and escalate critical cases per SOPs to maintain donor safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also be licensed as a physician or state EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Collaborate with the Center Medical Director to respond to medically related questions.
• Review test results and assess donor symptoms affecting donation continuation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as required.

• Reviews test results and determines continued donor suitability; assesses donor symptoms that may result in the inability to continue donating
• Notifies and counsels donors regarding reactive test results; refers donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling
• Provides routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); escalates critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required
