Job summary

Distinction, LLC, a Mississippi-based operator of the St. Louis Job Corps Center, seeks a qualified LVN/LPN to support student health services.

This role offers weekday hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM with weekends off, and on-site clinic duties within a professional team. You will conduct health assessments, document encounters, educate students on wellness, and collaborate with the Center Physician.

Qualifications

• Licensed LVN/LPN with active state license.
• Minimum one year as a practicing LVN/LPN preferred.
• State licensure in the center's location is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• Conduct health assessments, walk-in evaluations, and wellness screenings.
• Assist with new student physicals and health orientations.
• Review lab results and coordinate follow-up with the Center Physician.
• Develop wellness plans and educate students on healthy lifestyles.
• Lead wellness education groups and offer one-on-one counseling.
• Maintain infection control standards and proper medical documentation.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote student safety.

About the role

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM - WEEKENDS OFF!
Pay: Hourly | Service Contract Act (SCA) Covered Position

Join our team and receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus :

• 50% paid on your first paycheck
• 50% paid after six months of continuous employment

Employees who receive the initial sign-on bonus payment must remain employed for at least six (6) months. Employees who voluntarily separate before completing six months of employment will be required to repay the initial bonus payment.

What You'll Do

As a member of our Health & Wellness team, you'll play a vital role in supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our students by:

• Providing compassionate nursing care in accordance with your state's Nurse Practice Act.
• Conducting health assessments, walk‑in evaluations, and wellness screenings.
• Assisting with new student physical assessments and health orientations.
• Reviewing laboratory results and collaborating with the Center Physician or medical provider on follow‑up care.
• Developing individualized wellness plans and educating students on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Leading wellness education groups and providing one‑on‑one health counseling.
• Maintaining infection prevention and control standards, including proper handling of medical equipment and specimens.
• Accurately documenting student health encounters and maintaining confidential medical records.
• Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive campus environment.

Qualifications

• State Licensed Vocational Nurse’s License/Licensed Practical Nurse’s License and one year’s experience as a practicing LVN/LPG.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice in state where center is located.
• Prefer two or more years of experience.

The pay range for this role is:

29 - 32.60 USD per hour (St. Louis JCC Main)
