Grifols in Iowa City is seeking a Center Medical Specialist to support our plasma donation centers. You will perform physical examinations, take medical history, and determine donor suitability while building rapport to ensure excellent donor experience.

You will educate donors on general health, counsel on test results, evaluate and manage donor injuries, and support employee training and vaccination programs.

Qualifications

• Licensed and currently certified in the state of employment as LPN or LVN.
• CPR certification required.

About the Job

• Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
• Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
• Provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
• Evaluate & manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
• Assist in employee training
• Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Job Requirements

• Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocation Nurse.
• CPR certification required.
