Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
• Assist provider in minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork efficiently.
• Administer medications and vaccines under provider direction and within scope of practice.
• Promote a clean and aseptic environment, preparing rooms between cases.
• Follow up on diagnostic testing for proper filing and continuity of care.
• Document patient history, vital signs, and basic medical data in the medical record.

Job Summary

Geisinger offers a new, higher pay rate and a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for licensed practical nurses. This position provides primary clinical support to the provider, patient, and their family, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care as directed by the provider.
• Assist provider in minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork efficiently.
• Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under provider direction and within scope of practice.
• Promote a clean and aseptic environment, cleaning and setting up examination and treatment rooms between cases.
• Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion and proper filing in the medical record for continuity and quality of care.
• Document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and basic medical data base for the provider.
• Communicate with patients and prioritize information to the provider, responding to patient questions and requests promptly.
• Obtain and document patient information and prepare patients for examinations.
• Work independently to satisfy all job‑specific obligations and comply with all organizational policies and procedures.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or collegiate level program in nursing, or equivalent clinical training. (Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing – Required)
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (Preferred).
• Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
