Geisinger is seeking an Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a hospital setting in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Eligible candidates may receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $40,000 in support to become an RN.

Competitive hiring rates apply with up to $5 per hour shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Position includes full benefits from day one, tuition reimbursement up to $5,000 per year, PTO, wellness programs, and a comprehensive EAP.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required).
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Contributes data to assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
• Reinforces patient and family education, discharge planning throughout hospitalization.
• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other team members to resolve patient needs.
• Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice.
• Provides input to the manager for performance appraisals of care delivery team members.
• Precepts and mentors new staff and students in a professional manner.

• Precepts and mentors new staff and students in a professional, positive manner as assigned.

Position Details

Hours include:

7a-7:30p; Every other weekend and holiday requirements.
