Job summary

UPMC's Lakefront Primary Care North in Erie, PA is seeking an LPN to join their team. This full-time role works Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no holidays, evenings, or weekends required.

Eligible candidates may qualify for a sign-on bonus up to $7,500 with a 2-year agreement for experienced nurses and up to $5,000 for new graduates. Responsibilities include planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care; administering medications and vaccines; assisting physicians;

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
• Interviews patients to address health concerns and provides counseling.
• Administers medications and vaccines as ordered by physician.
• Maintains sterilization of office equipment and stock records.
• Performs laboratory duties in compliance with OSHA and CLIA.
• Identifies educational needs and teaches patients as requested.
• Assists physician during exams and performs procedures.
• Maintains continuing education with necessary documentation.
• Demonstrates commitment to service excellence by meeting patient and family needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing care for patients and their families.
• Possesses the ability to obtain and interpret information considering age specific needs.
• Conducts interviews with patient to answer questions related to healthcare problems and provides necessary counseling utilizing all resource persons and materials available.
• Administers medications and vaccines as ordered by attending physician and keeps abreast of changes in requirements for immunization, flu vaccines and allergy injections.
• Responsible for sterilization of office equipment and ordering of stock supplies and keeps appropriate records of same.
• Performs laboratory duties assuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA.
• Identifies and communicates educational needs of patients to their physician and does teaching in these areas upon his/her request.
• Assists physician in patient examination and performs specialized procedures.
• Maintains competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences with necessary documentation.
