Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including IV therapy as applicable.

This role requires a high school diploma, current LPN license, BLS, and strong organizational and communication skills. The nurse will support a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment and uphold compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current LPN license in state of practice required.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association required.
• IV therapy credentials preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; self-directed with good judgement.
• Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning and evaluation.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with all patients, guests, family members and co-workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
• Adapts to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day as needs of the unit / department change.
• Manages personal professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
