Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the health-care team in a med/surg/tele or ED setting. You will exercise sound nursing judgment, provide IV therapy, and participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care under supervision.

The role requires completing an approved LPN program, maintaining licensure, and completing IV therapy training within 4 months. Day/night shifts, weekend requirements, and a strong focus on patient education are included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved LPN program.
• Active state LPN licensure.
• IV therapy certification within 4 months of hire/transfer.
• Willing to work day/night rotations and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care following guidelines and policies.
• Administer IV therapy and monitor patient responses.
• Communicate patient needs to the care team and document in EHR.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and transitions.
