Mosaic Life Care is seeking a Clinic LPN Float Pool nurse to provide quality patient care under leadership, assisting with examinations, procedures, and medication administration across facilities. The role includes patient education and coordinating referrals to ensure timely care.

Requirements include graduating from an accredited practical nursing program, MO or KS LPN license upon hire, IV and BLS certifications, and a valid state driver's license.

Job Description

The Clinic LPN Float Pool works under the supervision of leadership. Clinic LPN administers quality patient care according to established standards. Clinic LPN may delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients.

Responsibilities

• Greets and prepares patient for provider examination and treatment. Performs general nursing care to patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Assists provider with procedures and properly maintains equipment before and after procedures.
• Engages in patient/family teaching to achieve the desired patient outcome.
• Monitors the scheduling of patients, answers patient inquiries, and maintains timely flow of patients.
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition to provider.
• Arranges for patient referral testing at other facilities or specialty care.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program, or military equivalent. - Required

Licenses and Certifications

• LPNIV - Lpn Iv Cert - State of Missouri or Kansas, depending upon designated work location. If a new grad, LPN must be obtained within 90 days post-graduation. - Required Upon Hire Or
• IV Certification - IV certified upon hire. - Required Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
• Driver's License - Valid In State - Required Upon Hire

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

Essential Technical/Motor Skills

• Fine motor skills required, eye\hand coordination, walk, ability to speak clearly, hear answer phone, data entry.

Interpersonal Skills

• Displays a friendly, positive attitude and communicates with patients, families, physicians and co-workers in a professional manner.
• Ability to communicate in verbally and written.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must move, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and lift.
• Must follow good body mechanics.

Essential Mental Abilities

• Ability to collect thorough information regarding patient's condition and evaluate effects of care; must be able to visually inspect patient's condition.
• Problem solve, manipulate numbers, adaptability, interpret data, calculate, comprehend, understand, explain, assess, evaluate short term and long term memory.

Essential Sensory Requirements

• Visual, hearing, feeling, smell.

Exposure to Hazards

• Needle sticks, cuts, back injury, body fluids, blood, punctures, scratches, physical injury from combative patients, radiation exposure, blood products, road and weather hazards when driving required.
• Infection/disease exposure from patients, visitors, and co-workers.
