Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital - Madison is seeking an LPN for our Rehabilitation unit in Madison, Mississippi. The role involves direct patient care under RN supervision, medication administration, and participation in care planning for rehab patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited licensed practical/vocational nurse program.
• Current state licensure as Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• IV Certification required or obtained within 6 months preferred.
• Minimum six months' Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and condition.
• Reduces medication errors by following correct procedures.
• Performs patient care considering needs specific to age group (geriatric and general rehab patients).
• Assists with assessment and reassessments under RN supervision; initiates rehab nursing interventions.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
• Carries out the plan of care and updates the interdisciplinary care plan as patient condition changes.
• Interacts professionally with patient and family and involves them in care decisions.
