Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) to provide high-quality nursing care in an institutional setting. The nurse will apply nursing skills to care for inmates/residents and assist the physician during sick calls.

Responsibilities include dispensing medications, maintaining security and confidentiality of medical records, and ensuring compliance with policies. A valid LPN license and state licensure are required, along with a driver’s license and a minimum age of 18.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Must be licensed in the state of employment.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Attend sick call with the physician; prepare inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment.
• Operate pill call; dispense medication and document as required by policies.
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment and inventory as required by established procedures.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records.
