You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.


About the Role

Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the management of the Center Physician.


Responsibilities


  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

  • Evaluate donor reactions in accordance with SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.

  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.

  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

  • Manage employee incidents and decide on further evaluation required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.

  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community, as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.

  • Current state license or certification: LPN or LVN.

  • Current CPR and AED certification.

  • Basic IV therapy certification, fulfilling state requisites.

  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation

U.S. Hourly Wage: $24.32 – $33.44. Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, skill, education, certifications, and location. Wages comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
