AdventHealth in Temple Terrace, FL is hiring an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time daytime shifts. You will support RN-led plans, perform meds and wound care, educate patients and families, and participate in ongoing staff development and quality initiatives.

The role requires compassionate patient care, multitasking, and strong communication; weekend/on-call coverage may be required. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with CPR certification.
• Proven clinical nursing knowledge and patient care skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education, medication administration, wound dressing changes, and ostomy care as directed by the RN and ordered by the physician.
• Displays flexibility in accepting assignment changes and participates in weekend/after-hours coverage and call rotation.
• Reports pertinent observations to the attending physician and RN, and implements changes in the patient care plan as directed.
• Maintains clinical record information in accordance with established standards and within established time frames.
• Performs treatments, administers medications, and conducts follow-up assessments per provider orders.

Up to a $2,500 Sign on Bonus Available

Mileage reimbursement provided: $0.76 per mile

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation

• Develops professional and clinical skills through attendance at staff development meetings, pertinent educational activities, and professional affiliations.
• Participates in the review process and the agency performance improvement program.
• Provides patient education, medication administration, wound dressing changes, and ostomy care as directed by the RN and ordered by the physician.
• Displays flexibility in accepting assignment changes and participates in weekend/after-hours coverage and call rotation.
• Reports pertinent observations to the attending physician and RN, and implements changes in the patient care plan as directed.
• Communicates changes to the appropriate members of the home health care team.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills with all team members, patients, and families.
• Maintains clinical record information in accordance with established standards and within established time frames.
• Provides direct patient care responsibilities for assigned patients in an efficient, organized manner under the direction of the RN.
• Performs treatments within their scope of training and administers medications to assigned patients.
• Assesses patients during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs, and assesses for signs of abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines.
• Administers treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments ordered by the provider, verifying as needed, and responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations.
• Performs diagnostic and occupational medicine testing, including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, and pulse oximetry, and complete forensic testing collections in accordance with established guidelines.
• Collects data specific to the age of the patient and contributes to their plan of care.
• Receives, verifies, and implements physician orders, ensuring orders taken by the LPN are co-signed by an RN.
• Other duties as assigned.
