Job summary

Surfpoint Recovery in New York, NY is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team in providing compassionate care for patients with substance and alcohol use disorder. The LPN will render nursing care in assigned areas under RN supervision, following established standards and nursing techniques.

Shifts are 7:00 am–7:30 pm or night, and responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, meticulous documentation, withdrawal assessments, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current NY State Board of Nursing License and Registration
• Current CPR
• Current BLS
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in nursing

Responsibilities

• Administer all medications according to Safe Nursing Practice, in a timely manner and per physician orders.
• Educate patients regarding their medications and document patient responses in the medical record.
• Document admissions, discharges, passes, transfers, and ER visits in the medical record.
• Document progress of the patient’s detoxification process including behavioral response.
• Document all treatment interventions and the patient’s response in the medical records.
• Communicate with all treatment team members regarding patient progress.
• Conduct withdrawal assessments and/or monitor vital signs as indicated by the treatment plan.
• Collect data for CQI programs such as Census, Kardex, Risk Management, Incident Reports, and Infection Control.
