Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking an LPN to assist the Registered Nurse in implementing the plan of care for a group of patients and to perform in a technical role to provide quality patient care. This role supports MLH’s mission and values while delivering compassionate service and excellence in patient care.

The position requires a technical nursing degree or diploma, Tennessee LPN licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Technical Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• LPN with 1–3 years of experience preferred.
• BLS from American Heart Association required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse in Tennessee required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording data.
• Provides direct patient care in a safe manner.
• Evaluates the plan of care on an ongoing basis.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and health team members.

What you will do

• Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data.
• Provides direct care in a safe manner.
• Evaluation of the plan of care on a continuous basis.
• Effectively communicates in writing and orally with patients/families and other health team members.
• Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery in assigned area.

• Required - Technical Degree or Diploma Nursing

• Required - LPN 1-3 years

• There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands

• The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
• The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
