Job summary

Aultman Orrville Dunlap Family Physicians is a family practice that provides acute and chronic care for pediatrics and geriatrics, preventative care, and minor surgeries. This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role offers direct patient care, patient and family teaching, and collaboration within the health care team under the RN's direction.

We seek a graduate of an accredited nursing program with Ohio LPN licensure and BLS with RQI; IV certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under RN direction in a family practice setting.
  • Educate patients and families about care plans and treatments.
  • Document nursing activities accurately and promptly.
  • Recognize changes in patient status and report to RN for evaluation.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses.

The primary purposes of the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) are to provide direct patient care, patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Aultman Orrville Dunlap Family Physicians is a family practice that specializes in acute and chronic care for pediatrics and geriatrics, preventative care, and minor surgeries. Our practice has offices located in Apple Creek, Dalton, Doylestown, and Orrville with 9 physicians and 12 Advanced Practitioners. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to our patients and community at every stage of life.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required.
  • IV Certification, preferred.

  • Adhere to professional standards and guidelines, including ethical actions, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, during nursing practice.

  • Responsible for timely review of emails, department communications and applicable learning assignments and completion as applicable.

  • Meal and break times are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Shifts are scheduled or changed due to the staffing needs of the unit/department based upon volume and acuity.
  • Work weekends and holidays as assigned or as applicable based on department needs.
