Job summary

TEEMA seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Texas to administer medications and treatments and perform nursing procedures within state regulations after competency demonstration.

Responsibilities include documenting observations, communicating with team, responding to emergencies, monitoring treatments, collecting specimens, and educating individuals on health goals. Flexibility to attend shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed LVN in Texas or reciprocity via NLC is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Demonstrated computer and electronic health record skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments orally, rectally, internally, or by injection.
• Performs technical Nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations after demonstration of competency.
• Documents and reports pertinent observations.
• Communicates orally and in writing to other team members pertinent information. Documents according to facility policy.
• Responds to emergency situations to ensure safety of individuals in line with infection control procedures.
• Monitors individuals for treatments and procedures.
• Collects specimens for laboratory examination and conducts screening tests when requested by lab personnel.
• Provides education to individuals with specific health goals.
• LVN II assists other staff in turning/repositioning individuals to administer treatments.
• Ensures that supplies are available.
• Manages an individual’s medical record in the EHR or paper chart.
• Attends work regularly and may work rotating shifts or overtime as required.
