Job summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time days to support physicians at two locations. You will perform clinical duties, take vital signs, prepare rooms, and assist with procedures while maintaining high standards of care.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, aseptic technique, and strong communication. Onsite shifts run 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri, at Montour Falls and Schuyler Hospital facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
• Current NYS licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of diseases and treatment.
• Ability to apply aseptic technique and sterilization.
• Knowledge of the EMR and scheduling protocols.
• Basic keyboard skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties in accordance with the LPN scope of practice and NYS laws/regulations.
• Carry out all assigned clinical procedures for patient comfort and well-being.
• Take and record patient’s vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment per protocols.
• Assist physicians with procedures, patient care, and scheduling.
• Provide call management for physicians with regard to clinical questions and prescriptions.
• Prepare patient records for visits as directed.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss roles and processes.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
