Job summary

You will review medical histories, prepare patients, provide bowel-prep instructions, coordinate scheduling with the surgical team and facility staff, and ensure documentation and pre-certifications are completed accurately.

Qualifications

• Indiana LPN licensure or eligibility with Indiana State Board testing results.
• Knowledge of colonoscopy procedures and care protocols.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency.
• BLS Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain colonoscopy referral pool and coordinate scheduling with surgical team and facility staff.
• Review patient histories and medication lists to identify risk factors.
• Conduct pre-procedure assessments and interviews with patients.
• Provide bowel preparation instructions and clarify procedure expectations.
• Ensure all required tests and clearances are completed and documented.
• Complete pre-certifications with insurance companies.
• Follow up with patients regarding pathology results and additional care needs.
• Log and coordinate repeat colonoscopies and related referrals.
