Avera McKennan invites applications for a Regular Nurse at the 7th Avenue Clinic. The role delivers professional nursing care under provider direction and supports patient flow in a busy clinic.

You will perform general nursing care, administer medications, coordinate care, assist with procedures, and educate patients about treatments and wellness. LPNs welcome, with emphasis on compassionate teamwork.

Competenze

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license active in state of practice.
• Ability to perform general nursing care and administer medications.
• Effective communication with patients and team members.

Mansioni

• Performs general nursing care to patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Coordinates the patient care activities for the clinic.
• Prepares equipment and assists provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider.
• Oversees appointment scheduling and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
• Maintains timely flow of patients.
• Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination.
• Screens patients for appropriate information including obtaining the health history, and taking vitals.
• Documents obtained information in patient chart.
• Instructs patient in collection of samples and tests.
• Responds to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician.
• Educates patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
• Suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
• Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials.
• Ensures cleanliness.
• Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
• Assures appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed.
• Performs quality control and maintains records on all lab testing.
