Shift Schedule

Work days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients.
• Administer medication.
• Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
• Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
• Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
• Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
• Follow Code Blue protocol.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.
• Experience with technology.
• Computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Experience in Cardiology.

Physical Requirements

• Essential Duties: This position requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient’s progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the RN or physician.
• Physical Duties: Frequent walking, sitting, and standing; frequent talking and listening; frequent use of the phone, fax machine, and occasional use of the computer.
• Work is heavy, with constant lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment, supplies and materials up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with the help of mechanical devices or other personnel.
• Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving a patient into position for treatment; also reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulating equipment into position.
• Working Conditions: The majority of the time the employee spends indoors in air‑conditioned areas.
• Potential for exposure to blood and blood‑borne pathogens is significant.
• Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

• This position involves high exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids that mandate the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
