Job Description
The Clinic LPN works under the supervision of leadership. The LPN administers quality patient care according to established standards and may delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel. The LPN may be required to work in other areas based on staff skills and patient acuity.
Responsibilities
- Greets and prepares patients for provider examination and treatment; performs general nursing care.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assists providers with procedures and properly maintains equipment before and after procedures.
- Engages in patient/family teaching to achieve the desired patient outcome.
- Monitors patient scheduling, answers inquiries, and maintains timely flow of patients.
- Observes, records, and reports patient condition to providers.
- Arranges for patient referral testing at other facilities or specialty care.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program, or military equivalent. - Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – State Licensure or Compact. - Required upon hire
- IV Certification – IV certified upon hire. - Required upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required within 90 days
- Driver's License – Valid in state. Required upon hire if operating a motor vehicle for business purposes.
Travel Requirements
- Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off‑site locations as needed. - Required
