Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an LPN to provide patient care under physician supervision in a clinic setting. The role involves basic nursing tasks, assisting with examinations, and performing routine lab procedures as needed.

The position follows a standard 8 AM to 5 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, and is full-time. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, handling calls, test scheduling, medication refills, and clerical duties to support the care team.

Qualifications

• LPN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy competency (site-specific).

Responsibilities

• Under physician supervision, performs basic patient care duties (vital signs, weights, specimen collection).
• Assists providers in examination and treatment of patients and with procedures.
• Assist with patient flow through the clinic.
• Answer phone, record messages, and assist with patient-related calls.
• Schedule tests, results, and pre-certification; document information related to patients.
• Assist with medication refills and administer medications/immunizations per provider orders.
• Clean and restock exam rooms; maintain equipment per policy.
• Order stock supplies and maintain sterile technique per universal protocol.
• Perform routine clerical duties (charts, forms, filing).
• Attend required meetings and in-service training; perform other duties as assigned.

Summary:

Provides care under the supervision of a physician or registered nurses for clinic patients, according to established standards and practices. Performs various lab procedures when necessary and in accordance with competency.

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the physician, performs basic patient care duties including, but not limited to, obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens [including phlebotomy (specific to site).
• Assists provider(s) in examination and treatment of patients and with procedures.
• Assist with patient flow through the clinic.
• Answers phone/records phone messages and assists provider(s) with patient related calls.
• Assists in scheduling test appointment, results and pre-certification.
• Documents any information related to patient. Assists provider(s) with medication refills.
• Administers medications/immunizations according to provider order.
• Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
• Cleans equipment in accordance with policy.
• Orders stock supplies from supply department (specific to site maintains sterile technique and utilizes universal protocol.
• Performs routine clerical duties assigned, including but not limited to locating patient charts, filing and the completion of routine forms.
• Attends/completes required meetings and in-service training and performs other duties as assigned.
