Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our team in Illinois. The role involves medication administration, IV piggybacks, and nursing tasks under RN supervision, including dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care.

The LPN will support patient care plans and coordinate with physicians to ensure safe, effective treatment. Qualifications include an Illinois LPN license, BLS certification within 30 days, and a college diploma.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including IV piggybacks (excluding IV Push).
• Chart assessments once RN completes initial assessment.
• Contribute to care plans and documentation alongside RN.
• Collaborate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care as needed.
• Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions.

Overview

Sign On Bonus $2500 (2yr commitment LPN >1yr) When unit is full, LPN will work with RNs with highest acuity or will be paired with an RN who has a heavy patient load. When the UNL has patients, the LPN will be paired with the UNL to assist with the UNL patient load. LPN tasks may include oral meds, IV piggyback meds, trach care, dressing changes, documentation on assessments and care plans after the RN has completed the first assessment and initiated the care plan.

• Complete dressing changes as needed.
• Complete trach care as needed.
• Insert and care for NG tube and feedings through NG tube.
• Care for and change ostomy.
• Reinforce education and discharge instructions.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $25.73per hour - $41.87per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
