Job summary

South Sound Behavioral Hospital in Lacey, WA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in providing nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse and collaborate with the health care team. This full-time position supports psychiatric patients and involves documenting care and patient changes.

The role requires WA LPN licensure, CPR and crisis intervention training within 10 days, and prior to restraining procedures, plus med administration exam.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Current license to practice by the State of Washington.
• Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• CPR certification and successful completion of crisis intervention training within 10 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Document patient information and nursing care in the provision of nursing services.
• Document any significant changes in the patient's condition in compliance with facility policy.
• Alerts the registered nurse of changes needing reassessment.
• Report any signs or symptoms of infection in patients to the Infection Control Nurse.
• Verify the accuracy of patient records.
