Job summary

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with EMR systems strongly preferred.
• Demonstrates initiative and pro-active problem solving.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Validate daily that managed care/commercial cases have appropriate authorization and notify supervisor of variances.
• Document authorization and denial information in Care Management documentation system.
• Submit initial clinical information within 24 hours of admission as directed by UR nurse.
• Ensure payors have all clinical information and updates; alert UR nurse/DCM as needed.
• Coordinate peer-to-peer arrangements between physicians and insurance providers on denials and document outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain licensure/certification (LPN) as required.
