Job summary

University Hospitals in Willoughby, OH is seeking an LPN for Ambulatory General Surgery to provide safe, age-specific nursing care using the nursing process across patients and families.

You will document accurately, deliver care with teamwork, and contribute to clinical operations while maintaining PHI confidentiality in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Travel is 10% with location at 5105 SOM Center Road.

Qualifications

2+ years nursing experience (Level II) required.
LPN license in Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact required upon hire.
BLS required upon hire.
Knowledge of Ohio board of nursing standards and PHI handling.

Responsibilities

Functions in accordance with Ohio board of nursing standards.

A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

What You Will Do

Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing.
Completes/submits required documentation.
Delivers effective relationship based nursing care.
Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities

Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

Other Accredited Program: Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in a nursing program. (Required)

Work Experience

2+ years Nursing Experience (Level II only) (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing. (Required proficiency)
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices) (Required proficiency)
Level II Only: 18 CNE's per year. 3 CNE's in clinical specialty At least 5 CNE's in Leadership Other CNE requirements will be agreed upon with manager
Level II Only: 3 Peer Reviews. Committee Involvement. 5 criteria with evidence of each.
