Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking an LPN for the Ambulatory Float Pool, 40-hour days. The role involves performing delegated nursing tasks, patient assessments, administering medications, venipuncture, EKGs, and vaccinations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health status and document data per procedure.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered; operate equipment per policy.
  • Perform venipuncture with aseptic technique, 12-lead EKGs, and administer vaccinations.
  • Participate in care plan implementation and education for patient/family.
  • Document patient care and report changes to Provider and RN.
  • Assist provider with treatments, procedures, and tests as required.
  • Communicate with patients via electronic, telephonic, and in-person means.
  • Collaborate with health care team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
  • Maintain a safe environment.

Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to Provider and/or RN and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.6.Assists provider with treatments, procedures, and special tests as required or directed.7. Communicates with patients via electronic, telephonic, and in person, per scope of practice.8. Collaborates with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.9. Maintains a safe environment.**Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:**1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures.2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.3. Participates in use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.5. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:**Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds. Work is of heavy demand, standing and walking most of the time with the possibility of pushing heavy equipment and bending frequently.
