Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (CSU/Bridgehouse) to support admissions, medication administration, and patient safety in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The role requires current Florida LPN licensure and clean typing speed with prescreen performance.

The LPN will transcribe orders, document care, and interact with families while maintaining HIPAA compliance. This is a non-exempt, on-site position with a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Active Florida LPN license required.
• Inpatient psychiatric unit experience preferred.
• Typing speed of at least 27 wpm and prescreen score of 65%.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN/Physician in the admission process by gathering baseline health data.
• Transcribe verbal or telephone orders and verify by readback.
• Enter physician orders into MAR and administer medications as ordered.
• Intervene to prevent injury to staff or clients as needed.
• Communicate with family within HIPAA guidelines.
• Document client interactions and interventions accurately.

About the Role

As the Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational excellence and strategic direction of Meridian. You will:

• Assists the RN/Physician in the admission process by gathering baseline data of client's current health status.


• Transcribes verbal or telephone orders received from the physician and verifies such by \"readback\".


• Transcribes physician orders to the medication administration record (MAR).


• Administers medications as ordered by a physician.


• Intervenes as necessary to prevent injury to staff or other clients.


• Provides for interactions with family, to the extent possible, under HIPAA regulations.


• Provides accurate documentation of client interactions and interventions.

What We're Looking For

• Clear/Active license to practice as an LPN in the State of Florida.


• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit preferred.


•   Must be able to type at least 27 wpm on prescreen assessment and score at least 65% on general assessment.
