Job summary

Goldwater Care in Roseville, IL is seeking a licensed practical nurse to direct day-to-day nursing assistant activities and lead the shift's clinical team. You will plan services, oversee admissions and discharges, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting to physicians.

The role requires current LPN licensure, CPR certification, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts in a long-term care setting. Experience in LTC is preferred and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
• Current CPR Certification is required
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Must be able to work 12 hours a shift.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants. Plan the shift’s services, programs and activities. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel on your unit/shift.
• Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon admission, transfer or discharge. Receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician’s Order Form. Chart nurses’ notes reflecting the care provided.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Make written & oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
• Complete & file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer and/or discharge. Receive & transcribe telephone orders from physicians & record on the Physician’s Order Form. Chart nurse’s notes in an informative & descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident.
• Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician.
