Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Gadsden Correctional Facility in Quincy, FL, seeking a licensed RN to supervise care, administer medications, and coordinate treatment under health services leadership.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, CPR, and timely, accurate documentation. Duties include medication control, emergency response, chart reviews, and on-call coverage in a secure correctional health setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in nursing and active Florida nursing license.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred, including EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record, unless waived.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of health services administrator, supervise nurses and providers and approve treatment per protocol.
• Assist with provider line; prepare examination room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, administer medications and document as required.
• Control medication, syringes and supplies; maintain secure storage.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for orders.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records and confidentiality.
• Monitor for catastrophic illnesses and respond to emergencies.
• Comply with pharmacy laws for controlled substances.
• Occasional on-call work; manage narrative, statistical and operation records.
• Conduct chart reviews and ensure necessary interventions.
• Perform rescue functions for accidents and disasters and evacuate individuals as needed.

Management & Training Corporation operates the Gadsden Correctional Facility in Quincy, Florida, providing residents with excellent care including medical services supporting their health and well-being.

Primary Duties

• Under the direction of health services administrator, supervising nurse and professional service providers and in accordance with approved treatment protocol, assess condition of and prescribe treatment for detainees reporting to sick call.
• Assist with provider line; prepare examining room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, administer medication and document as required. This may include pushing and/or wheeling a pill cart on facility campus.
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment as required.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call the physician for treatment orders.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records. Observe applicable HIPAA rules.
• Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
• Comply with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially those covering controlled substances.
• Perform work on an on-call basis, as required.
• Prepare and maintain narrative, statistical, summary and operational records, reports, and logs.
• Conduct chart review; review status of detainees with serious health problems for completion of all necessary intervention and treatment.
• Perform rescue functions for accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administering basic emergency medical aid, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.

Qualifications

Degree in nursing, current, valid nursing license for the state of Florida. One (1) year of experience preferred to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting, wound care. Must possess current CPR certification. Valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
