Join Our Team

Camp Baer is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our opening clinical team.

This is an opportunity to provide meaningful nursing care in an environment centered on recovery, dignity, safety, and long‑term change. If you are looking for nursing work where you can build strong patient relationships, contribute to a high‑quality clinical program, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals in recovery, we would love to talk with you.

About Camp Baer

Despite its name, Camp Baer is not a traditional camp. It is a premier residential substance use disorder treatment center located in a chalet‑style lodge nestled within the wooded mountains of West Virginia.

Camp Baer is part of Wise Path Recovery Centers, operated by Ascension Recovery Services. Together, we provide integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment grounded in evidence‑based clinical practices and a commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Our culture is built around kindness, teamwork, empathy, integrity, excellence, and being deeply mission‑driven. We believe exceptional outcomes begin with exceptional people, and we are intentionally building a team that shares that commitment.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders, facility protocols, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor patients throughout detoxification and residential treatment.
  • Observe, assess, and report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse, nurse practitioner, physician, or other appropriate provider.
  • Assist with nursing assessments, admissions, ongoing patient monitoring, and discharge‑related care as appropriate within scope.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical observations.
  • Support withdrawal‑management protocols and medication‑assisted treatment as ordered.
  • Provide patient education related to medications, wellness, recovery, and ongoing health needs.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic health record.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, therapists, behavioral health technicians, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintain medication security and follow all applicable controlled‑substance procedures.
  • Follow infection‑prevention, patient‑safety, emergency‑response, and facility protocols.
  • Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational requirements.
  • Support compliance with Joint Commission standards, state licensing requirements, and other applicable regulatory and accreditation expectations.
  • Promote a safe, therapeutic, trauma‑informed environment for patients and team members.
  • Participate in training, competency validation, and ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
