Job summary

UAB Medical West is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in McCalla, AL. Under RN supervision, you will provide patient-centered care, administer medications, and document status and progress in EMR.

You’ll work with Physicians and care teams, supervise Patient Care Techs, and contribute to a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Alabama (AL) required.
• BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated LPN to join our team at UAB Medical West. Under the supervision of the RN, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed, patient-centered nursing care. The Licensed Practical Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; administers medications; and evaluates and documents patients’ status and progress. The Licensed Practical Nurse also supervises Patient Care Techs, and other team members as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active LPN license in the state of Alabama
• BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire date. ACLS and/or PALS certification from the American Heart Association may be required depending on the nursing unit.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical setting
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
