Helen Farabee Centers in Wichita Falls, TX seeks a licensed mental health professional to deliver clinical counseling and community supports under the Director of Mental Health Services. You will provide CBT/CPT-based counseling, conduct assessments, crisis intervention, and connect clients to community resources.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a social/human services field and licensure progress (LCSW/LPC/LMFT). Strong documentation and collaboration are essential.

Job Details: Job Location: Wichita County MHC - Wichita Falls, TX 76307, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: Licensed, Salary Range: $62,571.00 - $64,404.00 Salary/year, Job Shift: 8-5 M-F, Job Category: Health Care, Under the supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services, this position is responsible for the delivery of clinical counseling services and community supports to persons with severe and persistent mental illness, as defined by the state authority, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Services are to be provided according to the Texas Recovery and Resilience Model, and must conform to the Performance Contract, Community Service Standards, and Helen Farabee Centers (HFC) policies and procedures, and Medicaid standards.

Responsibilities

• The incumbent must have knowledge, skills, and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy as the primary role is to provide counseling services to individuals who are diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
• The incumbent will assist individuals in making skill informed choices, educate individuals on community resources and assist with accessing services.
• The incumbent must provide face-to-face assessment and crisis intervention services to any individual requesting help or presenting in crisis at any time.
• Teamwork, initiative, and positive example in work habits are expected at all times.
• The incumbent is to provide consultation and support to fellow staff as needed.
• This position is designed for someone with compassion, competency, and proficiency for working with persons who have severe and persistent mental illness, and other social determinants of health.

• The incumbent should have knowledge and skills in assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, and community support services for children, adults, and geriatric persons with mental illness, as well as knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications and basic casework skills.
• The incumbent is willing to be trained/certified in additional counseling protocols offered by HHSC and HFC.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major in social, behavioral, or human services field.
• Completion of work toward Licensure and achievement of appropriate professional certifications (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LMFT) required.
• Experience with Severe and Persistent Mental illness is preferred but not required.
• Must have valid driver's license and be insurable to drive Center vehicles.
• Must pass and maintain all Center mandated trainings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and proof correspondence, reports and computer printouts manually, etc.
• Good spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to write progress notes according to standard, assessments, brief mental status exams, memos, letters, various complex reports and miscellaneous other documents with acceptable spelling and grammar.
• Ability to relate verbal instructions, communicate in a courteous and effective fashion with co-workers, consumers and families, agencies and the public.
• Display a customer service orientation; at all times treating customers as equals and partners.
• Skilled in the use of personal and network computers, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and office management software (Microsoft Office), SmartCare, familiarity with CARE.
