Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with the school’s classical philosophy.
• Provide instruction using Charlotte Mason’s pedagogical techniques of narration, habit training, atmosphere, and a curriculum of living books and ideas.
• Teach and lesson plan for a variety of subjects, including math, nature study, history, literature, poetry, Bible, phonics, reading, spelling, artist study, composer study, and recitation.
• Implement a phonics approach to reading instruction.
• Help students grow in habits of mind, heart, and body.
• Foster positive and collaborative relationships with the students and parents.
• Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with the classroom aide.
• Attend staff meetings and training days.
