This role loads equipment such as front end loaders, crushers, fuel tanks, dozers, and excavators onto the trailer and drives to destinations. The position emphasizes safe operation, adherence to DOT regulations, and collaboration with foremen and superintendents during briefings.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of operating heavy trucks with trailers.
• Able to assist in loading and unloading equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

• Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Keeps record of materials and products transported.
• Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle.
• Operates equipment on vehicle to unload equipment or materials.
• Operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operated.
• The Lowboy Driver assists in loading and unloading truck equipment or materials.
• Willingly attend and support Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment.

In this position, the Lowboy Driver will load construction equipment (may include but are not limited to front end loader, crusher equipment, fuel tanks, dozer, excavator, oversized loads) onto trailer and transport to various construction sites. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks.

Certificates and /or Licenses

• Valid Class A CDL
• Able to pass a DOT physical.
• Clean Driving Record
• Endorsements: Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement a plus, but not required.
