Job summary

Applied Medical recruits a Low Voltage Technician I to install and maintain campus wiring systems, contributing to a reliable low voltage infrastructure supporting operations.

You will assist with cable installation, termination, and testing, read technical drawings, and work from elevated positions following safety standards, collaborating with the Low Voltage team toward independent project work as skills grow.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to crawl, climb, kneel, squat or bend as needed.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50–80 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at extreme heights.
  • California driver's license and DMV check requirements.
  • Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain low voltage wiring systems throughout the facility.
  • Assist with cable installation, termination, and dressing.
  • Pull, terminate, and test data for low voltage cables.
  • Install support structures, including racks, trays, slings, and j-hooks.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to guide installation work.
  • Operate basic power tools and test equipment safely.
  • Work from elevated positions, including aerial lifts, in accordance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Low Voltage team to complete projects to Applied Medical's standards.

Position Description

The Low Voltage Technician I supports Applied Medical by installing and maintaining low voltage wiring systems across the campus. This role, also referred to as a low voltage installer or structured cabling technician, works closely with the Low Voltage team to learn cable installation, termination, and testing while building toward independent project work. The Low Voltage Technician I contributes to a reliable, well-built low voltage infrastructure that supports Applied Medical's operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain low voltage wiring systems throughout the facility.
  • Assist with cable installation, termination, and dressing.
  • Pull, terminate, and test data for low voltage cables.
  • Install support structures, including racks, trays, slings, and j-hooks.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to guide installation work.
  • Operate basic power tools and test equipment safely.
  • Work from elevated positions, including aerial lifts, in accordance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Low Voltage team to complete projects efficiently and to Applied Medical's standards.

Position Requirements

  • Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
Preferred

  • Electrical experience in a similar field.
