Job summary

Applied Business Communications (ABcom) is seeking skilled telecommunications cable technicians in the United States. The role involves wiring, closet builds, and installing cabling with fiber and copper systems across data centers and facilities.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience, OSHA 10, and a current BICSI Installer cert. The job emphasizes safety, documentation, and reliable teamwork on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the communications cabling industry.
• Data Center experience is a plus.
• Demonstrates knowledge of codes and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with cabling crews to install and route cables.
• Build out telecommunications closets and organize racks.
• Install cable support systems (tray, j-hooks, ladder tray).
• Terminate cat 6 connectors and optical fiber (multimode/single-mode).
• Perform copper and fiber splicing (fusion or mechanical).
• Test copper and fiber cables and troubleshoot systems.
• Complete documentation such as timesheets and progress reports.
• Maintain safety and professional appearance on site.
