Job summary

Straight Line Communications, LLC is seeking experienced Low Voltage Cable Technicians for commercial structured cabling and network installations. You will install, test, and troubleshoot CAT6/CAT6A, fiber, CCTV, access control, and data room components, reading blueprints and diagrams to ensure precise builds.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of cabling experience, own tools, a valid driver’s license, able to lift 50 lbs, and willing to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of structured cabling experience.
• Strong experience with CAT6/CAT6A termination and testing.
• Ability to read construction drawings and cabling schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have own industry-standard tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test CAT6/CAT6A structured cabling systems.
• Install and terminate patch panels, racks, cabinets, and cable management systems.
• Install and terminate single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and network diagrams.
• Perform cable certification and testing using Fluke or equivalent testers.
• Troubleshoot cabling and network connectivity issues.
• Coordinate with project managers, IT teams, and other trades on-site.
• Assist with data room buildouts and network infrastructure installations.
• Operate lifts up to 40 feet (certification is a plus).
• Travel to job sites as needed.

Straight Line Communications is a growing technology and infrastructure company specializing in structured cabling and network solutions. We are seeking experienced Low Voltage Cable Technicians with strong background in commercial structured cabling and network infrastructure installations.

This is ideal for a skilled, detail-oriented technicians with hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fiber certifications (FOA, Corning, BICSI, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Experience with CCTV, access control, and other low-voltage systems
• Experience using cable certification tools and documentation software
• OSHA certification or other safety training
