ID Tech Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician for a full-time, field-based role serving clients across the New York City Metropolitan Area and surrounding region.

You will service, diagnose, and troubleshoot low-voltage communications and security systems, with smaller installation projects. We value a reliable, proactive technician who works independently, communicates clearly with clients, and ensures timely, effective resolutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in low-voltage installation, maintenance, or servicing.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent, proactive field worker with ownership of tasks.
• Excellent communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, audio/video).
• Carry out low-voltage cabling, small installations, and upgrades.
• Diagnose issues and implement practical, efficient solutions.
• Assess needs and take action to restore system functionality for clients.
• Test systems to verify resolution and proper operation.
• Travel to client locations across NYC Metropolitan Area and surroundings.
• Communicate findings, solutions, and work status clearly to clients and team.
• Document service and installation activities accurately.

Role Description

ID Tech Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician for a full-time, field-based position serving clients throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area and surrounding region.

The role focuses primarily on servicing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting low-voltage communications and physical security systems, along with smaller installation projects.

We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and resourceful technician who can work independently, think critically, and take a practical, solution-oriented approach to resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low-voltage systems, including CCTV, access control, burglar alarms, phone systems, and audio/video systems.
• Perform low-voltage cabling work, small installations, and system upgrades as needed
• Diagnose technical issues and determine practical and efficient solutions.
• Proactively assess what needs to be done and take appropriate action to restore system functionality and resolve client concerns.
• Test systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality and verify that issues have been resolved.
• Travel to client locations throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area and surrounding region
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members regarding technical and service issues, findings, solutions, and completed work
• Maintain accurate documentation of service and installation work

Work Schedule

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST
• Friday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM EST

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the low-voltage industry, including installation, maintenance, or servicing of low-voltage systems.
• 3 years of hands-on troubleshooting experience across various low-voltage systems, including phone systems, audio/video systems, burglar alarms, and access control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify practical and efficient solutions.
• Resourceful and proactive approach to resolving technical issues, with the ability to think outside the box when needed.
• Ability to work independently in the field, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assigned work.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to completing work efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, understand their concerns, and communicate solutions clearly.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability and willingness to travel to client sites throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area and surrounding region
• Relevant low-voltage certifications, technical training, or a degree in a related field is a plus
